Bells characterization

Main task was to verify / demonstrate the applicability of laser vibrometry for the characterization of musical instruments, and in particular of bells. In this context, the laser vibrometry is a candidate as a viable alternative to traditional measurement techniques (based on microphones), allowing to obtain, for each bell, the different resonance frequencies (i.e., sound notes), their temporal duration, and also the spatial profile of the deformation.

Measurements were carried out using the VSM 100 laser vibrometer (Laser#1 in the picture below)
